PhD thesis topic: Analyses of health-related inequalities by focusing on social deprivation and healthcare accessibility

Pablo is an associated PhD student at the GIScience Doctoral College. In his PhD research Pablo analyses health-related inequalities by focusing on social deprivation and healthcare accessibility. This research is supervised by Professor Thomas Blaschke. Pablo holds a Master of Science degree in Ecology from San Francisco de Quito University (USFQ) and a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Environmental Studies from the Army Polytechnic School (ESPE), Ecuador.

His scientific interests focus on health geographies, quality of life studies, geo-politics, spatial statistics and econometrics, VGI, spatial planning and landscape ecology. Since 2006, Pablo has performed projects and consultancies for several governmental and private institutions in the field of GIScience. He also has been lecturer of several courses related to GIScience. Currently, he is lecturer of spatial statistics and thesis reviewer for the postgraduate distance learning program UNIGIS in Latin America (http://americalatina.unigis.net/).
